Sequoia Financial Group has acquired BSW Wealth Partners, a Colorado-based independent wealth-management firm with approximately $2.3 billion in client assets as of 30 June 2026.
The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Sequoia reported $34.9 billion in assets under management as of the same date.
Founded in 1992, BSW operates from Boulder and Denver and provides financial planning and customised wealth management to clients across the United States.
BSW will operate under the Sequoia Financial brand following the acquisition.
Expanding family-office capabilities
The combination gives BSW clients access to Sequoia's broader planning and investment capabilities, including tax and estate specialists, investment resources and Sequoia Sentinel family-office services.
The transaction is relevant to the continuing development of scaled wealth-management platforms capable of serving families with increasingly complex requirements.
For larger private clients, investment management can represent only one part of the relationship. Tax, estate planning, charitable giving, family-office services and specialist planning can all become part of the same operating framework.
Continued acquisition strategy
Sequoia has combined organic growth with acquisitions as it expands its national footprint.
The firm says it now supports approximately 11,000 client households from 43 offices, with clients across all 50 US states and the District of Columbia.
For the private-wealth industry, transactions of this kind illustrate the strategic value being placed on scale, specialist capabilities and the ability to serve increasingly complex client needs through an integrated platform.
