Securitize and Neuberger have launched HINC, a tokenized high-income fixed income fund. The strategy invests primarily in high-yield corporate bonds, collateralised loan obligations and leveraged loans.
The fund is issued across the Avalanche, Ethereum, Solana and Sui blockchains and is available to eligible investors, with access governed by the applicable investor eligibility rules rather than open to the general public.
Tokenisation of credit strategies has advanced faster than tokenisation of most other asset classes. Money market and short-duration products came first; extending the model to high-yield credit and structured loan exposure moves tokenised vehicles further along the risk curve.
The claimed advantages are operational: programmable subscription and redemption, faster settlement, and transferability within permitted investor groups. The underlying risks remain those of the credit portfolio itself, including default risk, spread volatility and the liquidity profile of loan and CLO markets under stress.
For family offices assessing tokenised funds, the questions worth asking concern custody arrangements, the legal relationship between the token and the underlying fund interest, secondary transfer restrictions, and how valuation is struck in illiquid conditions.
Digital assets, tokenisation and their institutional infrastructure are addressed within the UKFOS Oxford 2026 programme.
