H.I.G. Capital, the global alternative investment manager with approximately $75 billion of equity capital under management, has appointed Tim Hsu and Chris Todisco as Managing Directors within its Capital Formation team.

Hsu is based in San Francisco and covers institutional investors on the West Coast. He joins from Oaktree Capital Management, and previously worked at BlackRock.

Todisco is based in New York and covers institutional investors on the East Coast. He joins from Schroders, having previously held roles at First Eagle Investments.

Capital formation teams have grown steadily in importance across the private markets industry. As allocation decisions concentrate in fewer, larger relationships, managers are investing in dedicated coverage of pension plans, endowments, insurers, consultants and family office capital rather than relying primarily on placement agents.

For allocators, senior hires of this kind are a practical signal: they usually indicate a manager preparing for sustained fundraising activity across multiple strategies rather than a single fund cycle.

The relationship between managers and long-horizon private capital, including single and multi-family offices, is a recurring theme across the UKFOS Oxford 2026 programme.
