Chronograph has made validated private capital portfolio data available within Perplexity and Perplexity Computer. Access is limited to eligible Chronograph clients holding the appropriate subscriptions on both sides.
The stated design principle is traceability: figures surfaced in response to a query link back to the source documents from which they were extracted.
That distinction matters more than the interface. General-purpose language models are poor sources of portfolio-level fund data because they cannot show where a number came from; an integration built on validated, source-linked data addresses the specific failure that has kept AI tools out of institutional reporting workflows.
For investment teams, the practical gain is speed of enquiry — exposure, valuation and performance questions answered without a bespoke data request — provided the governance around who can query what remains intact.
Family offices with concentrated private market portfolios and small teams stand to benefit from this category of tooling, but only where the underlying data has already been validated. AI applied to unreconciled data produces confident errors.
