Panel Discussion — The Future Economy: Investing in Britain's Growth Companies & Innovation Clusters
Serena Koivurinta is stepping into her family's investment firm, Captium Group, which has interests spanning venture, operating businesses, acquisitions and alternative assets. The family invests directly in startups from an unusually early stage, taking a hands-on approach to helping companies develop and scale, alongside SME acquisitions and transformation projects.
She is also establishing Menerwā Ventures, an early-stage fund focused on science and technologies that strengthen European societal resilience across healthcare, biosecurity, defence and critical infrastructure.
Her perspective combines family capital, early-stage venture, operating and commercial experience. She is particularly interested in how patient private capital can support innovation before it reaches institutional scale, how next-generation investors can develop their own investment expertise, and how Europe can better fund technologies that are strategically important to its economic and strategic resilience.
