Redevco, one of Europe's largest privately owned real estate managers, has acquired a logistics fleet facility in Widnes, UK, comprising approximately 560,000 sq ft across a 17-acre site.
The acquisition expands Redevco's Industrial Outdoor Storage footprint to 5.2 million sq ft and €155 million of assets under management across 11 assets, as stated in this announcement.
Occupier and use
The facility is fully let to Jaguar Land Rover and operated by DHL, supporting supply chain operations linked to JLR's Halewood manufacturing plant in the North West of England. The asset provides a combination of warehousing and vehicle maintenance functions, reflecting its role within the wider automotive logistics network.
It has recently been refurbished as a build-to-suit facility for Jaguar Land Rover, with warehousing and a vehicle maintenance unit covering 11% of the site.
Location
The site is adjacent to the Inland Rail Freight Terminal in Widnes, giving direct connectivity to transport infrastructure for distribution and fleet management activities.
Commentary
Hugh Macdonald-Brown, Head of Redevco Logistics, said: "This acquisition is a strong addition to our growing logistics platform and underlines our conviction in the IOS sector. Assets of this scale, location and tenant quality are increasingly scarce, yet essential to the efficient functioning of supply chains."
He added: "The Widnes facility combines strategic connectivity with a high-quality occupier, supporting long-term income resilience and future growth potential."
Platform context
To date, Redevco Logistics has transacted more than €500 million in IOS assets across the UK, Germany, Spain and Belgium, spanning over 16 million sq ft. The firm describes continued deployment into a sector characterised by strong demand fundamentals and constrained supply.
The announcement positions the purchase as a further step towards a diversified, pan-European platform across retail parks, logistics and real estate debt. Savills, Wildbrook, Air BC and Osborne Clarke advised on the acquisition.
