Bicester Motion, the 444-acre future mobility estate in Oxfordshire, has unveiled plans for substantial investment across its estate over the next ten years — expanding its masterplan vision to create a connected, dynamic and sustainable community for automotive and aviation innovation, alongside new residential apartments and a hotel.
The estate, established in 2013 on a former RAF site in the heart of Motorsport Valley, has already seen more than £100 million invested in its transformation. It is now home to more than 50 companies employing over 500 people and training 200 apprentices per year, with the cluster contributing approximately £500 million in gross value added to the economy annually.
The proposed enhanced masterplan will deliver an additional one million square feet of offices and technical workspace for pioneering companies accelerating the world's adoption of future mobility technology — matching the circa one million square feet of active business space already secured through previous planning consents including Bicester Heritage, The Hangars, The Command Works, The Rushes, The Ranges and The Hotel.
The ten-year vision also includes approximately 200 new one to three-bedroom apartments, expanded hotel lodges and a clubhouse, and a commitment to 10% biodiversity net gain across the estate's landscape.
Recent arrivals to the estate include Audi Revolut F1 Team, Polestar, Motorsport UK, Skyports Infrastructure and synthetic fuel manufacturer Zero. This summer, YASA — the electric motor technology company owned by Mercedes-Benz — will move into a new headquarters at The Ranges, bringing 400 skilled employees to the Oxfordshire site.
As a destination for automotive enthusiasts, Bicester Motion's annual events programme attracts approximately 150,000 visitors per year from across the UK and internationally.
A four-week public consultation opened on 28 May 2026 and runs until 25 June 2026. A public exhibition was held at the estate on 12 June 2026.
